It started with a kind word,
Evolved into a meaningful look,
Reached the point of a kiss
Love was born
Two souls that would forever be intertwined
Their lives spent together, nothing coming between them
Nothing was thought to be able to separate them
Not even the pain of death
They lived together, never seeming to fight
Never seeming bothered by much
They just lived
And loved
No one could have imagained what came next
They seemed so happy
So healthy and safe
No one could predict or prepair for this
The results came back and word quickly spread
None thought this posable, none expected something this bad
How could this happen to someone so happy
So good and right?
This isn't fair, it isn't right.
That was the common responce
They didn't deserve this, neither deserved to die
While people far worse lived
What was the cause?
How could there be no cure?
How could one live
After the other dies?
They know, one can't survive without the other
Yet they must, one cannot rest in peace if the other does not go on
How can this happen,
To someone so young, so full of life?
The time grew closer with each passing day
The time of separation, and despair
When this pair of souls that had always been together
Would for the first time be apart
As that final day grows closer the days before grow colder
And find themselves filled with tears
Both know that neither will ever share again
What they've shared with each other
When the day arives, and despite the best efforts
One is snatched away from the other
There is nothing but sadness
Nothing but pain
How could someone be expected to burry
Someone so close to them
So important to them?
Everyone cries, exept the surviver
The one who lives does not shed a single tear
Is it because they are heartless?
Because they no longer care?
Or is it because they to have died inside?
No,
The reason the tears are not streaming
Down the face of the one who just burried their soulmate
Is simple, and plain
They know their love will live on
Even after they are separated
They will never truly be apart
The barrier of death may have inserted itself between them
But their hearts, and minds, will always be together
